ID & VERIFICATION

Find out what ID is needed

Answer a few quick questions and we’ll explain who normally needs to complete verification before an address can be activated.

Why we ask for ID

Clyde Offices provides address services for individuals and organisations. Before an address can be activated, we need to understand who is using it and, where relevant, who owns or controls the organisation. This helps prevent misuse of our address and allows us to meet our legal and regulatory responsibilities.

How the process works

  1. Sign up and pay
  2. Tell us about your situation
  3. Complete secure ID checks
  4. Receive confirmation that your address is active

Please do not use the address until you receive our activation email.

How ID is completed

Most checks are completed online using valid photo ID and a quick selfie or liveness check. In some situations, we may ask for proof of residential address or further information.

How your information is handled

We only collect information needed to verify the account and meet our legal and regulatory obligations. Information is held securely and accessed only by authorised staff and approved verification providers where needed.

Answer a few quick questions

Common examples

I am an accountant registering a client

You can submit the application, but we will usually need the client and any relevant owners or controllers to complete their own ID checks. Your ID alone will not normally be enough.

I am an admin assistant registering my employer’s charity

You can manage the account, but we may need ID from a trustee or other person who controls the charity before the address can be activated.

I have a company with several directors, but not all of them use the address

Directors or owners who control the company may still need to complete verification, even if they will not receive mail at the address.

I run another virtual-office business and need a Scottish address

We review these cases individually. We need to understand who the customer is, who controls the business, and who will use the address before activation.

I am setting up a company before it has been registered

The person setting up the company usually completes the first ID check. If other people will own or control the company, we may need their checks too before activation.
