Is your company up to date?
Search your company to see every Companies House deadline and a quick health check.
Company information is published by Companies House and can change. Corporation Tax dates are estimates worked out from the accounts year end. They are not dates from HMRC. This check is not legal or tax advice.
What you need, what it costs and how long it takes.
Check your name is available using the free Companies House name checker, and search existing trade marks.
Verify your identity first. Every director verifies with GOV.UK One Login and gets a personal code, which you need to register. If there is more than one director, you need each director's code.
Decide your directors, shareholders and people with significant control (anyone with over 25% of shares or votes).
Choose your SIC code, which describes what your company does.
Use a Scottish registered office from day one. Choose Scotland as your jurisdiction and put your Clyde Offices address down at registration, so your home address never appears on the public register.
Register online. It costs £100 by card, and your company is usually registered within 24 hours. You will usually be set up for Corporation Tax at the same time.
After registering: open a bank account, and add Corporation Tax to your business tax account once your UTR arrives.
Find your authentication code. This is a six-character code Companies House posted to your registered office when your company was formed. If you can't find it, request a new one. It will be posted to your current registered office, so order it before you change address.
Sign in to Companies House WebFiling with GOV.UK One Login. If you haven't used it before, you will be asked to create an account.
Choose "Change registered office address" and enter your company number and authentication code.
Enter your new address exactly as we've given it: 48 West George Street, Glasgow, G2 1BP.
Submit. Online changes are usually registered within 24 hours. The new address only takes effect once Companies House has registered it.
Then update your directors' service addresses too, so your home address stays off the public register.
Companies registered in Scotland must keep a registered office in Scotland. Our Glasgow address keeps you covered.
Directors and people with significant control need to verify their identity with Companies House using GOV.UK One Login. You will get a personal code. You only need to do it once.
Your first accounts, confirmation statement and Corporation Tax deadlines.

First Corporation Tax payment, 9 months and 1 day after the end of the first accounting period.

Setting up your Google Business Profile properly
Create your own listing. Do not claim the Clyde Offices profile.
Do not claim the Clyde Offices listing. If you search for 48 West George Street, Glasgow, you will find our Google profile. Leave it alone. Do not tap "Own this business", request access, or suggest an edit. That listing is ours, and claiming it will not give you a profile of your own.
Create a separate Google Business Profile in your own business name. Once it is created and verified, it appears on its own in Google Search and on Maps.
Start a new profile for your business. Do not open the Clyde Offices listing and try to take it over.
Use your own business name, the name you trade as. Do not use Clyde Offices.
If you visit customers or work online, set the profile up as a service-area business and hide the street address. Google does not allow a virtual office as a shop-front location. Hiding the address is what keeps a listing from being suspended.
Finish verification the way Google asks. The video and the help article below walk through the same steps.
